I mentioned before that my kid was working on an idea for a project to earn his Eagle rank with the Scouts BSA. He went before the project review board in March, and while they loved the project he proposed, they felt it wasn’t “enough” and they wanted him to do more and include a “legacy” aspect. As such, they rejected his proposed project and told him to figure out something else and to come back in April.

The kid went into overdrive. He came up with something that he could do that would both add to the project he’d already proposed AND have a legacy aspect to it.

He talked with all of the parties involved.

He re-did all of his paperwork.

He got approvals and signatures and submitted his new & improved proposal.

He went back before the board a couple of weeks ago. They loved his improvements, but they wanted one more thing.

On Monday, he got that thing and submitted it. He heard back on Tuesday that he now has final approval.

He started the work on Friday, and he’s hoping to finish the project by May 23rd. I’ll do a long post once the project is complete and share pictures and the entire story.

I’m so proud of him for figuring it out and getting it done.

Great job, Kid.
