College Research
My kid graduates high school in 2023. He has a list of possible careers that inerest him, and he has been researching schools that have these programs. He’s looking at schools out of state. This is fine with me, as I plan to move when he graduates anyway.
We did manage to go to a couple of college fairs in the fall of 2019, so he talked with some representatives already. We were supposed to visit some of them last summer, but Covid squashed those plans. I am hoping that we will get to do it this summer, but at this point, who knows what’s going to happen? We plan to visit as many on his list as we can, so the next 2 years are going to be interesting, travel-wise.
Are you, or your kids, doing college research? How are you going about it? What factors are you using to determine whether or not it’s a school you want to visit? We’ve been having regular meetings about it. He picks a school, researches it, and tells us what he likes and dislikes. We then discuss it and decide if it’s a “yes, definitely visit,” “maybe if we have time,” or “nah, there wasn’t enough to interest me” school. He also recently took the PSAT, and he’s already started to get literature from schools he hadn’t even thought of. Now he’s doing the research on those.
I can’t believe we’re at that point already.
When one is a new mom and older people say “It goes by so fast” it’s almost unfathomable, what with the sleep deprivation and endless feedings and diapers. Unfortunately, it is very true.
Just yesterday he was sleeping on my chest.
I swear it.
