Decluttering Plan Update
How it’s going and what I’m doing next
Well.
I started to write this article several times but kept putting it off because I’m a little embarrassed. I haven’t done so well with the decluttering over the past few months. Life got very busy, as I’m sure it has for you. I also admit that I don’t want to work as much in the spring and summer. I blame the heat.
After thinking about it for a while, though, I decided I really shouldn’t be embarrassed, and what I have to say may be what you need to hear, especially if you’ve also been struggling. Here goes:
Even “experts”, like me, fall off the wagon. Life happens. Plans go astray. Organizing and decluttering get thrown out the window.
And it’s ok.
Let me repeat that.
It’s ok.
Once I acknowledged that, it suddenly didn’t feel as overwhelming or frustrating. I sat down with my calendar and figured out when I could realistically get caught up, taking into account that fall is usually my busiest time of year. Now I have a workable list and a generous timeline.
Sometimes it’s all about taking time to regroup and refocus.
