With the holidays coming, I thought it would be a good time to give you some of my favorite baking tips and my most favorite cleaning tip.

  1. When making cupcakes, muffins, pancakes, or waffles, use a measuring cup to ensure they all come out the same size.
  2. When rolling out cookie dough, use two small dowel rods or chopsticks as a guide for your rolling pin. This will help the dough roll out to the same thickness.
  3. If you’re baking with molasses, honey, maple syrup, or any other sticky ingredient, spray your measuring cups or spoons with nonstick cooking spray first. They won’t stick!
  4. If you have dough that needs to rise, put a heating pad on low and place it under the bowl. This will help the dough heat evenly.
  5. To clean your microwave easily, add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to 2 cups of water in a microwave-safe bowl or glass measuring cup. Heat for 2 minutes. Take the water out and wipe down the inside of the microwave with paper towels or a clean cloth.
