Habits of Highly Productive People

Chances are that there is a person at work or in your friend group that you admire due to how much they seem to accomplish, whether it be at work or in their life in general. It seems that no matter what challenges are thrown at them, they always manage to “get-r-done.”

I have compiled a list for you of a few habits that most highly productive people employ. Pick one or two and see if they make a difference for you. If they do, consider trying them all.

Early to Bed and Early to Rise

I can attest to this one. I can get so much done, in a short amount of time, when no one else is awake. Of course, in order to be able to get up early, I make sure to go to bed at a reasonable hour that ensures that I get enough sleep. Even if you’re a self-proclaimed “night owl” this practice will improve your productivity. You will have an adjustment period, but it’s well worth the temporary discomfort of going to bed early and waking up early.

Eliminate Distractions When Working

This is one of the most difficult things to do, but it’s absolutely necessary if you want to increase your productivity. Don’t allow yourself to give in, and be sure to create environments that promote work. Turn off your desktop and phone notifications. Or even better yet, leave your cell phone in another room.
