If You’re Going to Procrastinate, Be Productive
It’s not as crazy as it sounds.
I know. At first, that sounds ridiculous. How can you be productive when you’re procrastinating?
First, understand that most people procrastinate ineffectively. You’re not using your time well if you’re watching YouTube videos or scrolling Facebook or Instagram. There are ways to procrastinate and still get things done. Here are some examples:
- Do some housekeeping.
Are you avoiding balancing your checkbook or working on your weekly meal plan? No problem. Wash the dishes. Vacuum the floor. Take out the garbage. Clean the bathroom.
2. Answer essential emails.
Are you taking a break in between work blocks? Use the time to respond to important emails and make a dent in your overflowing inbox.
3. Schedule appointments or meetings.
Do you need to set up a meeting with your kids’ teacher, make a doctor’s appointment for yourself, or get your car in for service? The perfect time to get these things crossed off your list is when you’re procrastinating.
4. Check up on the people important to you.
