Legos.

If you have kids, chances are, you are aware of Legos. You’re also most likely aware of what it feels to step on one with bare feet. Not fun.

Here’s a tip to help keep Legos contained.

Before your kids dump out their collection to play, put a sheet on the floor. You can even make it a game. Come up with something that your child enjoys that will motivate them, and tell them that if they keep all the pieces on the sheet they will get that thing. For example, my kid loved Hot Wheels cars. I always picked up a few whenever I saw them to keep in reserve, as they were relatively cheap at 99 cents each. Sometimes I would tell him that if he kept the Legos on the sheet, he’d get a Hot Wheels car. Other times it was a trip to Dairy Queen. Or being allowed to watch a show on TV. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s something that will help your kids remember to do it.

Win-win.

And when they’re done playing, all you have to do is gather up the sheet and dump the Legos back into whatever container you keep them in.
