Podcast Article 67 — Ways to Organize Your Day
Today I want to talk about ways to organize your day. Some of these are habits to cultivate for a more positive outlook and healthier life. Others are practical ideas to keep you on track.
Start a Gratitude Journal
Make it a habit to list 3 things you’re grateful for each morning. Not only will this practice make you happier, it can help you keep small irritants like slow traffic in perspective — especially if you’re having a rough day.
Know Your Top 3
Every morning, start out the day by listing the top three tasks that must be done no matter what. Then list the 3 tasks you’d like to finish next if time permits. Make sure that everything you do moves you towards the goal of finishing your must-do tasks.
Plan Your Day Based on Energy
Traditionally you plan your day by time slots. But when you budget your energy instead of your time, it can be easier to get things done. That’s because you’re leaning into your own natural rhythm. For example, if you’re not a morning person, it would not be productive to schedule an intense work session at 8am. Save it for the afternoon when you have more energy and focus.
