Today I want to talk about decluttering and how to incorporate it into your life.

Decluttering isn’t something you do once and then you’re done with it forever. It’s something you need to repeat regularly.

The key to decluttering is realizing it needs to be a mindset, or, in other words, a set of habits you develop that cleans the extra stuff out of your home — and keeps the clutter out as you move forward. Here are five simple ways to incorporate decluttering into your routine.

Create a donation box — or two

Most of the time, people keep things because they have nowhere to take them. Creating a donation box and leaving it somewhere accessible, like the floor of your closet or in your laundry room, makes getting rid of things as easy as putting the object into the box. When the container is full, put it in your car immediately to drop it off at a donation center when you’re out on your usual errands. For example, you can have a box for Goodwill and a box for books to be donated to the library or local schools.
