They’re different than productivity strategies.

Today I want to talk about productivity. You can use myriad strategies to become more productive, such as Eat The Frog, Time Blocking, and The Pomodoro Technique. Those are all great. But today, I’m talking about things you can do in addition to utilizing those strategies to help boost your productivity.

Here are some of them:

Focus on one goal at a time.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I firmly believe that multitasking is a fallacy, and no matter how good you think you are at doing it, it will hurt your productivity. You may believe and even feel like you’re accomplishing a lot, but you are just busy. If you focus on one goal or project at a time, you can give it your full attention, do your best work, and complete more than you would have if you’d been going back and forth between several.

Delegate nonessential tasks.

Even in your own business, you do not need to do everything yourself. Take the tasks that are nonessential — tasks that you do not need to handle personally — and delegate them to someone else.
