Podcast Episode 119 — Why Is Being Productive So Important?
Today I want to talk about productivity again.
We’ve all heard productivity is important, but have you ever questioned WHY?
The answer is not easy or simple, but here are a few reasons you might want to be productive:
It’s easier to manage your time more effectively.
Being productive allows you to have more control over your life. What I mean by this is if you are utilizing your time to be productive at work, you will accomplish your tasks and goals, which can free up time for your personal pursuits. It also means you’re not procrastinating, which can cause you to waste time.
It helps to keep your mind active.
Think about it. If you’re focused on completing your work and tasks, your mind is busy helping you do that. It’s not wandering off as it can tend to do when you’re daydreaming or procrastinating.
It can increase your quality of life.
By being productive and taking care of your work responsibilities promptly, you’ll likely have more time to devote to other pursuits — whether that’s starting a business of your own, spending more time with your family, or learning something new.
It can be the key to more happiness.
Being productive can motivate you and boost your mood, which can, in turn, give you a more optimistic outlook on life. This might not be true for everyone, but if you’ve been feeling anxious or depressed and you’re avoiding your work, you might want to try being productive.
