We are often told that we can do anything we put our minds to. While I personally believe this to be true, a lot of people consider this to be an untruth.

Why?

Well, there could be many reasons they are unsuccessful when pursuing a goal, but the one I come across the most is that they’re not putting in the work. They may think they are and feel like they are, but often, their efforts are not what they must focus on. But that’s a topic for another day.

Today, I want to talk about the other thing that trips people up the most — having unrealistic goals.

You might think that I have just contradicted myself by saying that I believe we can do anything we put our minds to, and in the same breath, saying goals can be unrealistic.

Not really.

I’ll explain. As long as you can recognize a goal as unrealistic, you can take steps to make it more realistic.

How do you do that?

For every goal you have, ask yourself these four questions to help you recognize what changes you can make to ensure it is realistic.
