What do you love to do?

I’m not talking about your work, although it helps your overall quality of life if you enjoy what you do to earn money.

I’m talking about what you do in your off time. The answer will vary from person to person, but some of the most common answers are spending time with friends and family, participating in sports or hobbies, and volunteering or giving back to your community.

When you do what you love, it creates motivation. For example, if you love golfing but need improvement with your swing, you’re likelier to stick to a practice schedule than if golfing was just “meh” to you. Time passes quickly, and you’re excited to do it, even if you consider the practice to be “work.”

When you do what you love, it can also encourage productivity. I know it sounds farfetched but stick with me. If you enjoy what you’re doing, the tasks (such as piecing together a crochet granny square blanket) don’t seem complicated, and the time passes quickly. Conversely, if you don’t like a particular task, you may find ways to procrastinate, get someone else to do the work, or even do a poor job.

Obstacles can become easier to overcome when you’re doing what you love. Even…
