Podcast Episode 28 — How Being Organized Saves You Time and Money
If you’ve been reading my articles or listening to my podcast for a while, you know that I’m all about being organized. I know that some people believe that they are just not wired to be “organized” or “an organizer.” But being organized has several advantages other than having an uncluttered home, and today I’m going to talk about two of them. Put simply, being organized can save you both time and money.
If you keep your paperwork organized, you don’t need to spend time looking for specific documents when needed. This is especially handy in the case of important papers, such as insurance information you might need quickly if there is an emergency or tax information that you might need if you’re applying for a loan.
If you keep your kids’ sports equipment organized and in one place, you won’t need to spend time running around the house looking for it when you’re trying to get out the door to be at practice or a game on time.
As I’m sure you know, the key to keeping things organized is to come up with a place to keep them and stick to it. Make it a routine or habit. If you want to keep important papers in a particular desk drawer, make sure you keep all of your important paperwork in that drawer so you will know exactly where to go to find it when you need it.
