Today I want to talk about organizing your car. You’re probably thinking, “Lisa, what is there to organize?” I used to think that way too. Until I had a kid. Here are some tips that you may not have thought of for keeping things clean and organized:
Pack an Essentials Kit in Your Car
Emergencies happen. Wardrobe malfunctions. Spills. Rain. Flat tires. Create a kit that you can keep in the trunk or back of your vehicle to help. Staples that you’ll want to include: flashlights, an umbrella, paper towels, a warm blanket, sunscreen, bug spray, feminine products, water, snacks, and a change of clothes. Figure out whatever else you might need in an emergency and add it to the kit.
Schedule an Oil Change
It’s something that needs to be done, and yet it’s usually forgotten about until the oil light comes on. Schedule one now, and if you want to save more time, schedule all your oil changes for the year in advance. Add reminders to your calendar and you won’t have to think about it again.
Clean out Your Glove Box
It has been my experience that this usually winds up being used as a trash can. Clean it out periodically. Set up a reminder or make it a routine when you get gas. While the tank is filling, do a quick clean out. And speaking of trash…
