Podcast Episode 86 — Tried and True Tactics for Building Momentum
Make a start and keep moving.
Today I want to talk about momentum.
Momentum is crucial whether you’re trying to finish your sales report or running a race.
You’ve probably heard of the Law of Inertia, which states:
“An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest.”
That’s also true for people. Here are 16 things you can do to help build your momentum:
Take the first step. Sometimes the most challenging part of any project is the beginning. Even if you’re not 100% sure what you’re doing, start. Pat yourself on the back for being brave enough to take the initiative and begin.
Begin early — whenever that is for you. If you’re a morning person, use your morning hours wisely. Try to rack up at least one accomplishment before breakfast. You may be able to sort through your emails or do a load of laundry in record time when interruptions are fewer.
If you’re not a morning person, use the same principle whenever it is you begin your work. Try to get one thing done before you have your first meal of the day.
