Podcast Episode 90 — What’s Your Organizing Style?
Here are the 4 most common styles and what to do for each.
Today I want to talk about organizing styles.
Four organizing styles are the most typical. See which one sounds the most like you. Knowing your style will help you create a system that works for you and that you will stick to.
Style #1 — keeping stuff in view.
If this is you, you probably pin your dry cleaning slips to the wall over your desk so you’ll remember to pick up your shirts. Where others see messy piles, you see strategic reminders that keep you on top of things.
If you are tired of seeing everything or it seems cluttered to you, here are a few things you can do to keep your style while also making it a little neater:
1. Straighten up. If putting things away or out of view seems stressful, focus on making your space look neat. Fold your clothes or hang them in the same direction. Arrange items on shelves instead of the floor.
2. Use see-through containers. Clear boxes will let you instantly spot your gloves or kitchen utensils while keeping small items in one place. You’ll even be able to find your summer or winter clothing as soon as the weather changes.
