Podcast Episode 93 — How to Prioritize (and De-Prioritize) Your Tasks for Peak Efficiency and Productivity
Three tips to get you started.
Today I want to discuss prioritizing your goals for peak efficiency and productivity.
To achieve either one — or both — the effort you put in should, at the very least, equal your output. Every time you work, if what you’re doing doesn’t move you closer to completing the tasks that will help you realize your goals, you are not being productive or efficient. You’re being busy.
The following tips will help you figure out how to prioritize — or DEpriotize — what you do each day to work toward your goals.
Goals First, Tasks Later
When creating your daily to-do list, you should first keep your goals in mind before you write down the tasks you think you need to do. Many tasks that we do daily do not move us forward with regard to our goals. Ask yourself, “How does this task help me with my goal?” before you add it to your list.
This doesn’t mean that every single thing you do needs to be goal-oriented. Doing the laundry and picking up the groceries still need to be done, but make sure that your significant daily tasks are moving you closer to your goals.
