Podcast Episode 97 — Work Ahead
How to organize your tomorrow, today.
Today I want to talk about the concept of work ahead.
Let's be honest — trying to plan your day when you've just woken up is a recipe for disaster. If you take a few minutes in the evening to plan out your tomorrow, things will go much more smoothly.
Here's how:
Each evening, take a few minutes to ask yourself the following questions:
- "What do I want to accomplish?"
The answer will vary daily, depending on your obligations, health, job responsibilities, and life in general. Once you've answered that question, make a list. Here's an example of what your list could look like:
- Exercise for 45 minutes before work
- Make the kids' lunches
- Give work presentation at 1 pm
- Call accountant to schedule meeting re: taxes
2. "What are the best ways to accomplish these tasks?"
Think about your day and available time, and use that knowledge to create the best schedule to accomplish your listed tasks. For example:
- What time do I need to get up to get my 45-minute workout in without rushing around and potentially being late for work?
