Podcast Statistics
If I’m honest, I don’t really pay much attention to my podcast.
What I mean is that I batch my content. I write the scripts for the episodes, usually 3 months at a time. Then I use those scripts as articles that I schedule to be posted here on Medium the same week that the podcast is going to air. Then I record them, (again, in a batch), edit them, convert them, and upload and schedule them to be published. For example, right now I’m writing the scripts for the March, April, and May episodes, and they will be recorded some time this month. And once I’m done with those, I won’t think about the podcast again until it’s time to do the next batch, which will be some time in late March or early April, depending on what else I have going on then.
I decided, though, to look at the statistics for 2021, and what I found was fascinating.
I have over 2,000 downloads, so if you’re a listener, thank you for that. That’s actually not a large number for a podcast that’s been around for over a year, but to me it’s huge. I’m very happy with that number, and I’m excited to see how my audience grows this year.
My podcast has also been downloaded in 34 countries, and in the top 24 it was more than one. Countries 25 through 34 each have only 1 download — but it’s a start.
