Podcast Episode 4 — Two Ways to Pare Down Your Chore List

Today I want to talk about your chores.

We all have chores; unfortunately, they’re part of life. I’ve figured out two ways to manage your chore list.

The first way is to break up your list.

When I was growing up, chores were always done on Saturday morning, before I could go out and play. Naturally, when I grew up and lived on my own (and later with my husband), I kept the tradition alive.

Saturday equaled chores. It just was.

That is, until my son was old enough to get into sports.

Sports that had games on Saturday mornings.

I had to change my whole routine, and as I was thinking about changing it, it occurred to me that I didn’t HAVE to do everything on one specific day.

Mind. Blown.

I started thinking about everything I did, chore-wise. I wrote a list — because, what self-professed organized person isn’t fond of lists, right?

Anyway, I looked at the list, and realized that each specific chore did not take that much time, and if I did one or two EACH DAY, Monday through Friday, it would free up my entire weekend.

Give it a try!
