Podcasts
--
Do you listen to podcasts? I know they’re wildly popular, but I have to say that I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon. I always felt that I didn’t have enough time to listen, and when I’m doing work things I can’t concentrate on the podcast and work at the same time so I usually just pass them up. I did try to listen once when I was on the treadmill at the gym (wow, that seems like it was years ago), but I kept losing my rhythm and switched back to music.
That being said, a friend of mine has a podcast, and I started listening to it. I’m really enjoying it. If you’re interested, it’s Wide Open Spaces With Ilise, and you can find it on iTunes, Spotify, and Podbean. It’s a podcast “promoting health & wellness & self improvement.” From her website:
We all have open spaces inside ourselves, not empty spaces but open spaces that we can fill with thought, ideas, love, and the world. I want to help inspire people to see the beauty in their every day lives.
I wasn’t aware of how much I needed to hear what she’s saying, but it has been incredibly helpful to me. Give it a listen — you’ll be glad you did.
I have since discovered that a few other people I know have them too, so I’m adding them to my list and making an effort to carve out time to listen to them. And I’m curious: when do you listen to podcasts? Are you doing something else at the time? Or do you devote your entire attention to listening? I find that I need to be concentrating on what I’m hearing or I miss most of it. I am choosing to believe that’s because my brain is so busy and not because I’m getting older. Ahem.
Someone I respect suggested that I start a podcast as part of my business. I’m on the fence about it. I’m not sure how I could turn a quick organizing tip into an entire episode, but I suppose I could try.
Tell me — is that something that would interest you? Would you listen to a podcast about organizing? Send an email to lisa@lisasealey.com and let me know. I appreciate it.
