Reflections on 2020
Hoo boy. Where to begin?
At the start of 2020, I had so many plans.
I was going to take my kid to visit some universities out of state.
I was going to visit my family; again, out of state.
I was going to travel to Scotland and Ireland.
I was going to participate in another runDisney race with my Sole Sisters at Walt Disney World.
Yeah, none of that happened.
I was, at first, angry. Then frustrated. Then sad. And finally, resigned.
But I realized that with all that 2020 took away from me, it also gave me some things.
It gave me precious time with my son, who will be going off to college in a couple of years. We got to hang out, watch movies, talk, and enjoy each other. I really like him, and not just because he’s my kid. He’s articulate, funny, kind, compassionate, and smart, and I’m going to miss him terribly when he leaves.
It gave me time to finish all of my research. I was able to stop talking about creating an e-course, website, blog, newsletter, and podcast, and actually do those things.
It gave me time to write, which I love to do.
It gave me time to crochet, which I also love to do. It gave me time to create so many new…
