Simple Self-Care
Here are some tips to get you started.
Self-care is personal. What one person considers essential for their health and well-being might not even be considered by another. If you don’t have a self-care routine, here are a few simple things you can do to get started.
Take a walk.
When you take a break from work, take a walk instead of hopping on your phone to check social media or play a game. It will help clear your head, calm your thoughts, and as a bonus, you’ll get some exercise.
Call a friend or loved one.
Sometimes we are so busy we forget to connect with the people important to us. Schedule time to call those you miss or haven’t spoken with in a while.
Read.
Reading a book is both mentally stimulating and a great way to unwind. Schedule a regular reading time each day — even 10 minutes will help. If you want more social interaction, consider joining a book club.
Rediscover your hobbies.
Do you have hobbies that you’ve abandoned? Try to find some time to rediscover one of them. Clear a space to work in your bedroom, living room, or home office. Having a dedicated space will help motivate you to continue. Being creative is a wonderful way to relax and unwind.
