Summer 2021
Well. I have to say that it’s been an amazing summer so far. I was a little afraid at the beginning of June that I was going to be disappointed because I’d been so looking forward to traveling I thought it couldn’t live up to my expectations.
I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. So wrong.
First, the kid and I went to D.C. for his summer program. Well, he went to the program, and I had my alone (and work) time. The kid loved the program, and I got more work done than I anticipated, so the trip was an all-around win.
Then, we were fortunate to go to see my family and friends — and visit some colleges. Of course, visiting my family and friends got the highest marks, but seeing the campuses of some of the colleges the kid is considering was pretty exciting too. Now we have places that are on the “definitely apply” list and places that are out of the running.
Next up is a visit with my Sole Sisters next month — much needed girl time. It is going to be the perfect way to finish off the summer.
I can’t wait.
