Things I Learned in 2021

- Taking July and December off was definitely the right thing to do. I had scheduled social media posts for both months so that I had a “presence,” but I think that in 2022 I’ll also take a break from social media for those two months. It will be an experiment.
- I work best in bursts, and my schedule needs to remain fluid. What I mean is, I know that I have to write and edit so many articles and podcast episodes each month, but I don’t do well when I have specific days that I assign to those tasks. I work much better when I can do what I’m in the mood to do that day. It all gets done by the end of the month, but I find it more relaxing to have a monthly list to follow rather than a daily task schedule. And if I choose a task, such as recording podcast episodes, I need to do them all before I move on to something else. It drives me crazy to go back and forth between tasks.
- I love recording my podcasts, but I don’t really like being on camera. I recorded the modules for my course and the video sales letters because I needed to, but I don’t love doing it. My goal for 2022 is to become ok with doing it. I don’t need to love it; I just don’t want to dread it. Baby steps.
- I need to create. I went a month without writing any articles, creating any social media posts, or working on any crochet projects, and it made me cranky. I love writing and crocheting. I…
