Update: How the Decluttering is Going

Earlier this year I told you about my decluttering schedule for my move in a couple of years. I was optimistic because I figured I had so much time that planning to do one thing each month or so would be easy.

Not so much.

Sometimes, knowing you have a lot of time to do something causes you to procrastinate more. I knew this, but now it’s become painfully obvious.

Here’s my original list, along with my notes:

February 2021: Declutter and clean off my big bookshelf in the living room. There are several books I can re-sell, and the ones I can’t, I’ll donate to the library. *Yeah. Didn’t happen. My “office” is in the living room, so I look at this bookshelf every day. And every day I tell myself, “I gotta get on that.” It didn’t help.

March 2021: Declutter and clean out the hall closet. This is our linen closet, and unfortunately, several items that don’t belong there have crept in over the years. *This didn’t happen either. It’s another one of those things that keep getting put off.

April 2021: Declutter and clean out the CD rack and movie cabinet in the living room. Again, I’ll sell or donate what I don’t want to keep. *I did the movie cabinet, but not the CD rack. At least half of this one got done. Lol.
