Use Your Commute to Jump-Start Your Day

Whether you drive or take the subway or bus, you can make the time work for you.

Here is a list of things you can do to make your commute productive:

  1. Listen to self-improvement recordings.

You can get CDs for your vehicle or use MP3 downloads or audiobooks on your phone. You can choose from personal growth strategies, tips on organization or productivity, or your favorite podcasts with informational tips.

2. Plan your day.

If you’re not driving, take the time to check your daily to-do list and make notes about your current projects. You can also schedule meetings using your laptop or phone.

3. Take care of emails (again, only if you’re not driving).

Your commute is a great time to tackle your inbox. When you get to the office, that’s one less thing you need to handle, and you can get right into your work.

4. Learn something new.

If you’re driving, you can learn a new language. If you’re riding, you can try your hand at a new hobby, such as knitting or crocheting.

5. Relax.

Sometimes, you just need to chill out, especially if you’ve had a hectic morning at home. You can…
