This month, I read A Warm Heart in Winter: A Caldwell Christmas by J.R. Ward. It’s set in the Black Dagger Brotherhood World, and if you haven’t read any of her books, I’d suggest starting at the beginning of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. You can Google the list of books or check Amazon to get the correct order.

The books can be read as stand-alones, but you miss many of the nuances between the characters if you don’t know the history. These books are classified as paranormal fantasy and romantic fantasy. They’re also about vampires. If any of these interest you, this is a great series to read. I really liked this book, but that’s not surprising; I have enjoyed all of them. Oh, and if the vampire part bothers you, it really shouldn’t. These books are written for adults. You won’t find any ridiculous teen-angst here. Just good, solid writing and great characters.

I was also lucky to get an advance copy of the second book in Kat Mizera’s Sidewinders: Generations series. It’s called Tore, and I loved it. The book releases on Tuesday, January 19th, so get ready to grab your copy. This book focuses on one of the younger members of the Las Vegas Sidewinders team (hence the “Generations” part), but that doesn’t mean it’s about kids. Tore is most definitely an adult, and although he does need some help learning HOW to adult, he finds his way with Margot. You can find a list of all of Kat’s books on her website at www.katmizera.com.

That’s all I’ve had time to read so far this month, but I have a couple on my list that I can’t wait to start.

What are you reading?
